Penggu Yang, with words of Penggu, Kunling and Kunxin, with alias of Cigu, Gucangkun and a house name of Guxing Hall, was born in Bin county of Shanxi province in June of 1971. He graduated from the art department of Xi’an Unite University. He likes researching philosophy and religion and he is good at painting. He studied Changan painting and Lingnan painting. Now he works as the subdecanal and vice chairman of Shenzhen Fuyong Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Association. He is a member of China Culture Celebrity Association. He is specially invited to be the painting master of Shanxi Art Gallery and Chinese Painting master of Inner Mongolia Painting and Calligraphy Seminar.

2001   Traditional Chinese painting WINTER DAYS took part in Enter into West---Painting and Calligraphy Inviting Exhibition.
2002   He took part in Jitai Cup---China Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition Game.
2003   He was invited by China-Japan Culture Association to go to the Japanese Culture Communicating Exhibition.
2004   He took part in the 7th Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition of Inner Mongolia Zhaojun Culture Festival.
2005   He took part in China Painting and Calligraphy International a Prize Game in San Francisco and won the Gold Award.
In October of 2005, he went to Beijing and took part in China Soul---National Painting and Calligraphy Celebrities Sodality for celebrating the 56th year of establishing our country. Art Paper specially introduced his painting art. In November of 2005, he was dubbed the National Outstanding Contributing Artist by China Country Study Seminar. In the same year, his traditional Chinese painting works were exhibited for the first time by HK collectors and were auctioned by HK Unify Auction Co., Ltd.
In January of 2008, he went to Beijing People’s Meeting Hall and was dubbed National Top 100 Moral Model and Top 10 Models of Moral and Skill by National Moral Model Meeting. National Committee of Promoting Traditional Culture Develop Project awarded him the certificate of National Outstanding Award of Promoting Traditional Culture Developing Project.
In August of 2008, he was dubbed the One-time Famous Master by China Culture Celebrity Association, China Culture Information Association and China Culture Unite Publisher.
His works were published on the 39th term of Art Comment held by China Art Seminar, 2005 spring edition of Wash Friend, China Contemporary Painting and Calligrapher Mo Han Works Gathering edited by Communicating Center of China National Art Academy, One Generation Master published by China Culture Unite Publisher, Celebrity Record of Asian Painting and Calligraphy World published by HK Contemporary Publisher, 21 Century Painting and Calligraphy Art Exposition, etc. Painting works most reflect large northwest yellow altiplano and Lingnan customs. His paintings express happiness of labors and the painters’ affection to the beautiful country. His works were collected by domestic and foreign organizations or friends.
