Shuai Yang was born in Shenyang city of Liaoning province in 1981. During 1998 and 2002, he studied the sculpture in Liaoning Industrial Arts School. During 2003 and 2007, he graduated from the vision transmitting designing department in Luxun Art Academy.
In December of 2005, his sculpture work WHITED SEPULCHER took part in the 5th Liaoning Youth Art Exhibition and won the Excellent Award.
In 2006, his personal work exhibition Person Who Doesn’t Walk The Right Way was held in the library of Luxun Art Academy.
In 2007, his work I AM NOT ME series took part in the Plane Designing Specialty United Exhibition in the art gallery of Luxun Art Academy.
In 2007, his work PALACE CHANGES series took part in the Modern 8-people Exhibition in Beijing Art Space.
PALACE CHANGES series is created in recent time. It mainly represents unique characteristics which only appear in China ---the long-term Sex Inhibition of the maiden-in-waiting and eunuchs in Qing dynasty. They want to set their feelings free, but they bid for their lives. The heroes are the children which express their innocent and a kind of cloudy consciousness of sex. It also reflects that the modern children mature too fast and they receive the different education from the one before 1980.
