Tao Liu, with marks of Couching-cow Mountain Person and Zhiawenshou Pavilion, was born in a painting and calligraphy family in 1957. He is from Nanyang in Henan province with Han nationality and graduated from a academy. Since 1979 he works in the art studying the oil painting and Chinese traditional painting. He also researches and studies the character and landscape of Chinese traditional painting. His works mainly express the history characters and modern landscape. In 1981, he followed Mr. Haixia He to study the painting and studied from the famous landscape painter Mr. Haixia He and character painter Mr. Zhisheng Huang. He was also taught by masters such as Ziwu Wang, Liang Ma, Gengyan Bai, Sheng Chang, etc. During the 1980s and 1990s, his works were held personal exhibition and united exhibition in Guangzhou, Singapore and Malaysia. He majors in landscape and character studying traditional basic skill and pursuing creation. In the recent days, during his practice, he gradually forms his own art style. His enjoyable landscape paintings are with deep ink, grey wet, deep meaning and majestic feelings which is full of deep infection power. His works pursue unification in the changing, use elegant brush to inspire the tradition of Chinese traditional painting combining with the modern tasting method, which is accepted and praised by people within the line. His works are collected in large quantity by foreign friends.
