Zhiwen Cao was born in Zhanjiang of Guangdong Province in August 1977. He studied in Zhanjiang Art School in Guangdong during 1992 and 1995. From 1995 to 1999, he studied in Guangzhou Art Institute. From 2005 to 2008, he studied in the Oil Painting Department of Guangzhou Art Institute as a graduate student and got the master’s degree.

2000   December, he joined the Art and Calligraphy Exhibition for mass people in Guangdong Province.
2004   In July, he joined the Guangdong Art Works Exhibition for celebrating the 55 years of People’s Republic    of China.
2006   In September, he took part in the Master and Graduates Exhibition of Guangzhou Art Institute.
2006   In September, he joined the Zhentai Exhibition of Guangzhou Art Institute.
2006   In November, he took part in the Guangdong Modern Art Starting Exhibition (south and north plan)
2006   In October, he joined the Exhibition of Guangdong Artists Association with 50 years.
2007   In may, he took part in the 3rd Expo Exhibition of National Cultural Industry (Shenzhen).
2007   In September, he joined the China Oil Painting Exhibition for Modern Graduates.
2007   In May, he took part in the 8th Sketching Exhibition of Guangzhou Art Institute.
