Shaojiang Yang, male, born in 1976, from Songjiang, Shanghai.
My family was poor when I was young. Lacking discipline made his brother and him to develop rebellious character at young age. He liked painting as childhood, but because of his poor results, the red lanterns were continuous. Because of his poor examination results, he entered high school after repeated study for one year. However, because his results were still very poor, even though his painting won awards in the Art Festival, there is no one to guide him into the orthodox college, which he still could not forget today. He worked in Japan-funded enterprises for 3 years after graduation from high school in 1995. Then he gave up because he felt bored. During the year without work, he loved collection, and he often read some relevant exhibitions and books, accumulating a lot of knowledge of painting. Then he opened a company with his friends, but because they could not bear arrears, it just could be finished hastily. Then he opened a beauty salon with his friends, from when he worked at midnight and was in the infamous. However, that period let him to take the road that has direct relation with painting. At last, it worked to the bad and was transferred because of his inner goodness, He let the staff find other work and ask them not to earn money by youth.
During the operation of beauty salon, he encountered a person, whose works gave him awakening feeling, liberating the subconscious painting cell. Hence, he gave up all to start painting.
Account in Author’s Own Words:
I am a relatively sentimental person and I like feeling. Therefore, my painting appeared. Of course, I painted the migrant workers because I could realize their hardships and frustration. I like painting by feeling, I do not care about other people said whose my painting likes, but I know that my picture there are still many shortcomings. However, I think the biggest advantage of my paintings is good feeling, of course, this is my opinion.
