Chao Sun, Male, December 10th, 1981, Han, from Shenyang, Liaoning, graduate school: 2nd Studio of Oil Painting Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts (mentor Wang Yan Weiershen) 2004 session, the intention of painting,  that ancient Chinese traditional culture is broad and profound is the pride of our people, and  also the valuable wealth of future generations, so I painted the Chinese heritage. I hope to promote and express the depth of Chinese culture, do contribute to the development. I borrowed western oil paintings’ common language to describe and convey China's great and irreplaceable, which is my mission as well. I will choose some of the culture that the public is familiar with as representation, such as martial arts, architecture, scenery, costumes and so on. These works may be guidance for the subsequent creation, then gradually go deep into the essence of Chinese culture, such as Confucianism, Taoism, Legalism, Masters, Zen and soon. On the screen, I would prefer some big scenes, handling skill is realistic, the color is monotonous and dark, like the color of memories (passing away of color) reminding us not to forget our culture. Appearing some static exercise movements in some scenes representatives, that development of cultural has been static, leaving for reflection. The affordability of the screen is limited, so the figure I painted is relatively small, which also make the viewer to feel the distance with culture that could not been touched. Some destructive traces in the screen symbolize cultural destruction. I will also add comparison and contrast in the screen to increase the contradictory. Screen will have contradictions contrast that make one think more, I add various contrast of each contradiction and collisions in the screen, destructing with the original screen, then the re-establish the response of a contradiction, and then re-destruct and re-establish, making the screen to form a uncompleted progressing state, repeated and described the existence of contradictions and conflicts. In the works, I often use the various conflicts, destruction and establishment, panic and quiet, death and survival, despair and hope, realistic and abstract, plane and three-dimensional, monochrome and colorful. All ascensive sides are expressed by subtle way. In terms of theory, it is extending toward the positive side, but the feeling that the screen give people is negative. My works give priority to the form of painting, researching the initial state of contradictions in the process of painting. Visit and the search for naturally formed intention, use short-term solution to settle the change in occurrence.
