Wei Hui, now used name Xiaoqiang Hui, born in Chongqing, China in 1982, graduated from Subsidiary middling Art School of Sichuan Art Academy of China in 2003. He entered Sichuan Art Academy of China in the next year and is Grade 4’s student of Print Department.
I was born in Chongqing, China in 1982. As a Chinese born after 1980s, we just catch up with the beginning of China’s Reform and Opening up. The outcome of Chinese and Western culture’s combination became the main stream that we accept the things. when the colorful fashionable clothes began to replace  the fusty blue cotton ones, when the rock music, Transformers, online games and other strange things and  so on started to enter our lives, our attitude to life, ways of thinking and value ideas were all  beginning to change, which made us to have different Vision of the life， the  values and the world . Today's China changes all the time, running all the time, bringing us novelty and surprise all the time. In a large extent, the things that some older intellectuals found it impossible have become possible. The problem thought to be problem in their view had already been exceeded or given up by the younger generation.
China is a country who emphasizes traditional family idea and traditional culture study all the time, I believe that, there are many after 80’s who are same with me, living and studying according to the route that already designed by our parents, learning more professional skills and live skills, so China could have so many crowded  Children's Palace. Certainly, our parents’ idea at that time was not to let us be a artist or a musician, they just hope after we grew old, we could have one kind of skill. However, press of study always made me to find little own space and time in the noisy world which belongs to my own’s little quietness and which is like all I noted by brush, that is the quietness I like.
From I began to study in subsidiary middle school, I like contemporary art all the time, like creation, but my parents considered the occupation problem after college graduation and let me to choose design major of Sichuan Art Academy. Because of my own pursuit to art creation, during the years in college, I did not given up the concern to contemporary art and my own exploration and attempt on the painting skills. In addition, in 2006, I began my huge number of painting creations on easel, searching one start that belong to myself and synthesis materials’ exercise and breach about painting in order to make myself to progress unceasingly. All the time, I am a person liking to feel, to know, to face the world and society. I do not know from when I began to like puppet, liking their purity, no resist, liking their quietness. May be the difference between human and puppet is not only that who create whom. Human always accord to one certain form to develop virtually, to create, and always do the bald and bully things generation by generation. During this process, human always ignored the things behind what the eyes seen, so I like to feel all the time, making all the complex things to be simple, act each sense cell in my body. As I know, seeing is not real indeed. May be all is because of one my dream. When I try to go to my own direction, I found my hands and feet were lined that I do not know, could not move, just like puppets who could not choose their fate.
As I majored in design, during the years in college, I did not attended any art exhibition and match, but at the year to graduate soon, I have already confirmed my direction and aim, I prefer painting to designing, as I know, doing the things you like, you could do it well, or do it better.
I hope to know more professional friends in future art road, to see more persons’ works, to let more friends to see my works as well, study together, progress together.
I think, what could let me abreact scene and express mood is brush, but not one icy computer.
