Manhua Liu, born in Beijing in 1963, graduated from Art Department of Beijing Pedagogic Institute, member of China Artists’ Association, commissioner of Cartoon Art Committee of China Artists’ Association, executive director of China News and Cartoon Seminar, now he is director editor of China Children’s Press&Publication Group.
1980  He began to publish cartoon works on national presses.
1988  He began to create cartoon character YOUNG GUYS that was serialized in China Youth News until 2000.
1989  His work SPECIAL ROAD was chosen to the 7th National Exhibition.
1990  He edited and painted CARTOON PHILOSOPHY TALK published by China Youth Book Concern.
1991  He created another children cartoon character TAOTAOPI that was serialized in China Children News until now.
1995  He began to paper-cutting creation.
1996  His work DOOR’S FORMING was chosen to Seoul International Cartoon Art Exhibition in Korea.
1997  His work FOOTPRINT won the Excellent Award in the 7th Seoul International Cartoon Match, and was chosen to China Contemporary Cartoonist Dictionary published by Zhejiang People’s Book Concern, and he began to create oil painting.
1998  His work PUZZLED was chosen to 15th Turkey International Cartoon Match, TAOTAOPI won the Bronze Award in the 9th China News Cartoon Works Comment Again which is 1998 National News and Cartoon Works Annual Match. His oil paintings WOMAN IN ROOM, BLIND BIRD were chosen into China Contemporary Painting Art.
2000  His work ENJOYING MOON was chosen to the 3rd China Cartoon Exhibition. His seven engraving designs were chosen into Contemporary China News Edition Distillation published by South Daily Book Concern.
