Peng Li, courtesy name Fuding, posing as Resident in Mountain, from Nanchong, Sichuan. He is now member of Root Art Research Center of China Culture Administration Institute, commissioner of Root Carving Art Committee of China Folk Artists' Association, member of Nanchong Artists' Association, member of Nanchong Calligraphers' Association. His root carving works and traditional Chinese painting works participated in many large-scale exhibitions including 2000 China Art Fair (Beijing International Exhibition Center), the 6th China Art Festival (Nanjing, Jiangsu), China Root Art Exhibition (1999, Kunming), Sichuan Art Exhibition (2007, Sichuan Art Museum), etc. His root arts combine the modern sculpture and traditional technics together, receiving appraises from Wu Jing, the former professor of department of sculpture in China Central Academy of Fine Arts and Yong Liu, vice chairman of Root Carving Art Committee of China Folk Artists' Association. His works won many great awards and were collected widely. In 2006, he started soiled ink painting style, of which landscape style is original and unique. His works entered art exhibitions and won awards for many times. He was praised as innovator of traditional Chinese painting, who is good at art language.
