Yanhai Zhang, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in The Central University of Nationalities. He is member of China Artists’ Association, China Print Painting Artists’ Association, Shandong Branch of China Writers’ Association, Beijing Oil Painting Academy and vice chairman of China Road Print Painting Academy. In 1951, he was born in Dalian, ancient home at Feicheng, Shandong Province. He loves art since very young and learns painting. In 1969, he entered the army and as one of the main members of creation group of print painting of railroad soldiers, he worked in professional creation for more than ten years in Railroad Soldier Art Group. His print painting works entered national art exhibitions and exhibitions abroad for many times. Many of his works won awards and were collected by National Art Museum of China. In 1979, he started and took part in organization of Dalu Art Exhibition with Huang Jiashan, etc. This exhibition was held by China Artists’ Association and Railroad Soldier(Now China Railroad Architecture General Company), which since now has been held for 13 sessions in National Art Museum of China and other places, receiving wild attention from the society. In 1984, he was transferred to civilian work with railroad soldier group, serving as leadership of culture department (Beijing branch) of large-scale state enterprise and at the same time he keeps working in creation activity of literature and art. His artworks include print paintings, oil paintings, comic-strips, illustrations, ornament pictures, etc. More than 6000 of his works were published on newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad, and other publications. His literature works include poems, essays, novels, reportage, etc, 11 of which were published in special volume. His biography was recorded into many large-scale dictionaries including Collection of Biography of China Literature Artists, Great Dictionary of Famous China Artists, Great Dictionary of China Writers, etc. Many medias published articles for the art accomplishments of Zhang Yanhai, including Guangming Daily, Fine Arts magazine, Writers newspaper, etc. Mr. Li Hua, deceased chairman of China Print Painting Artists’ Association and herald of China Emerging Print Painting Movement, wrote words for Zhang Yanhai when he’s alive: " Horses in the Wild Are Ambitious to Gallop For Thousand Miles." The 6th State Department of China General Labour Union conferred Zhang Yanhai with the award National Learn-by-self Talent Award, and the state culture department conferred Zhang Yanhai with State Group Star Award. In 2007, Zhang Yanhai started studio in Beijing, devoting his soul and male into creation career and keeping on his progresses in the road of art.
