Longchang Fang, learning painting with his mother Erming Gao (graduated from Wucang Academy of Art) since young and learnt much from many of his teachers such as Kangzhi Fang, Xiazhou Wang. In his 14, his traditional Chinese painting Feeding Pig won the First Prize in Wuhan Children’s Exhibition and was called Whiz Kid. His works have been sent to exhibit in British, France, the USA, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong, etc.
In 1965, he graduated from Hubei Academy of Art. He has been worked in Art Design Team of Hubei (now Hubei Gallery), Hubei Culture Union, Changjiang Culture and Art Publishing Company. He is now vice director of Publishing Committee of News and Culture of Hubei of China Minjin Party, chairman of Hubei Art Design Seminar, chairman of Hubei Layout Design Art Committee, proprieter of Oriental Culture Society and prior of Jingchu Gallery.
His work Times won the Special Honor Prize in China Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition posted by China Culture Administration. His work Pacification of South of the Yangtze River won the Silver Prize in the 4th Exhibition posted by China Artists’ Association. His work Devise Strategy in Command Tent won the honor of Outstanding Artist of International Calligraphy and Painting Art Seminar of China Culture Administration.
His directory was recorded into Grand Fair Book of Accomplishments of Chinese in the World, Blue Book of Chinese Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Carving, etc.
