Ping Zhang, born in 1960, ancient residence in Changwu, Shanxi Province. He grew up in Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, and accepted good professional education and edification of art. In 1982, he studied in Central Academy of Industrial Fine Arts (now called Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University). In 1986, he worked in Shanxi Art Research Institution and Fine Arts Lab. He works at creation and research of fine arts for a long time. His works won national and provincial awards.
His individual special works Black and White Decorative Painting Volume and Zhang Ping Painting Collection were published. He has written pieces of academic works of fine arts, and many of his works are often published on newspapers and magazines. In middle September 2006, he was invited by Shanxi Traditional Chinese Painting Gallery to hold his first solo painting exhibition in Art Museum of the gallery, causing relative echo there. In March 2007, About Artists program of Xi’an TV station made special program for him. He’s State Level-2 Artist and member of Shanxi Artists’ Association.
