Lincang Wang, male, born in 1966, Bachelor degree. Now he lives in Hebei, and is professional painter and writer.
I am crazy about traditional Chinese landscape painting for years. During this time, I read many ancient books, studied works of various schools, consulted and learned from teachers and friends. I always feel pleased when I gain more, such as a kind of technique, a famous work, an experience, or a break to a limit. Thanks to living near Beijing and Tianjin area, I profit lots from patient training and teaching from all my teachers.
I am always looking for ancient books and painting volumes, painting theories of ancestor artists to discuss and probe into with the seniors by thinking and practising. I close myself into a special space for further exploration and after years I hope I can turn out to be a master. Also, I travel a lot to plains, wild hills for thousands of miles to find out the essence of the nature. I am willing to taste the loneliness, to see things through my pure mind, to clear spirit by realizing, and to get to the bottom of things. Combine various things into one, and show a scene from numerous sources. Pursue a kind of effect that all objects have spirit and all imago has charm, and all abstract has taste. Learn to embellish from outside and realize the bottom of mind inside, which gains much traditional distillation but is composed by the modern.
Though not mattering so much, calligraphy and painting is a drop of great art sea. There is no fixed shape for great scene and no loud roar for great sound. The style is the man, and the painting either! During drinking, we show much feeling, though much to say, but never come out with a word. All is in the drink. What can I say? Never refer to the hight of the mountain and the depth of the sea. All I want to tell is in my writings and paintings!
In 1994 and 1995, he attends calligraphers’ association, artists’ association and culture union of the city.
October 2007, he won first prize in the 2nd National Famous Calligraphy and Painting Artist Invitation Exhibition of Chinese Literator.
