Jianghua Zhao, male, Miao Nationality, born in Sunjia Dam, Sinan, Guizhou in January 1982. In 2002, he went to Fine Art Institute of Guizhou Nationality Institute, and studied after famous painters Wang Jianshan, Teng Weiping, Guxu. In 2005, he joined Guizhou Artist Associate. In 2006, he graduated with bachelor degree. After graduation, he went to Ziyun, Anshun, Guizhou to work as China Young Volunteer. In 2007, he worked in Warm Sunset Travel Agency.

Artist’s Own Words        
        I love painting since I was young. During primary school, due to lack of fine art teacher, what I could do was  simply copying some comic-strip, and not until high school did I start to learn about basic knowledges about sketch, colors, literary sketch and so on. In our village, painting means not engaged in honest work, which not only was despised by people in our village, but also was objected by my parents. Additionally, without attention from the school and professional fine art teacher, actually except for my persistence to painting, I only had scanty knowledge about fine art after graduation from high school, basically speaking. Even my fine art teacher is not that professional, he indeed is a good teacher and helped me a lot for my professional examination. After going to college, I systematically learned professional knowledges such as sketch and colors. Afterwards, I chose print specialty according to suggestion from professional teacher. Until now, I am learning print after Professor Wang Jianshan and studies folk-custom of Guizhou.
        The really moment that I start my creation of print is in my junior. That’s a May full of enthusiasm. During long holiday of May 1st, I went to Kaili with my friends and came across Sister Festival of Kaili. That’s a pleasing journey, even more an unforgetable one. There, I visited beautiful Qingshui River, knew more about original ecology east Disco, and made friends with many Miao people. Back from Kaili, I urged to creation the first time, though without any experience, I constantly learned, asked and modified in Professor Wang Jianshan’s guidance. Finally, I had my first own work. After graduation from college, I left lively and propagate Guiyang City and wandered in village in Ziyun, looking for a picture in my dream. No matter it’s midsummer or deep winter, I painted all the real scenes and feelings down. During creation, using western modern art for reference, I pay good attention to learning from other professional painters with colors of oil painting, lines of traditional Chinese painting and construction of industrial art and other many art techniques, which rich expression of personal creation greatly. To descript the demands of new creation concepts, learning from Yunnan Wood Carving of Colors which is out of print and applying light effect in print creation, I’ve ever created several works such as Coming Spring, Impression of Miaozhai, Impression of Dongzhai, Mother and Daughter in Law by techniques of Wood Carving of Colors which is out of print. I have some realization of its deep meaning: Its creativity runs through painting, carving and printing all along, which enables painter to display one’s thinking space. Subjective random of countermark, chanciness not to be seeked, and unreserved one-time creation, all make me feel energic and the creation filled with risks. In the crash of unanticipated and uncontrollable knife edge, woodboard and colors, I keep an exciting mood from the begin to the end with passion of exploring, chance and unusuality during creation by catching wonderful outbursting effects in incidental opportunities.
        I’m a later comer in print field of Guizhou and I am indulged in print. For the future of print creation, I hope I can get guidance and support from you honorable earlier mastered.
