Wenbin Xiao, Chinese contemporary painter, born in Chenzhou, Hunan Province in 1960. He loves since he was young and studied in early age oil painting, traditional Chinese painting and industrial art design, etc. He has comparative research in Chinese and Western fine art theories and historical theory. He graduated from traditional Chinese painting specialty in Beijing Institute of Fine Art, and studied after Zhao Zhitian, Wang Wenfang, Wang Peidong and so on, who are famous painters in Beijing. He is good at painting enjoyable flowers and birds, landscape and also creates figure painting. By absorbing from excellence of others, his style is most close to Jing school, which is simple and thinks highly of tradition, spirit and quality.
His fine art works participated in national, provincial and army calligraphy and painting exhibitions for many times, including: traditional Chinese painting Remote Frontier was selected into National Calligraphy and Painting in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Country Foundation and won Excellence Prize; Silent Forest won third prize in Gold Goose Award Calligraphy and Painting Contest; Bamboo in Winter was selected into the 1st China Bamboo Culture Festival calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; Plum-Orchis-Bamboo-Chrysanthemum participated in China Blue-Sky calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; Fresh Bamboo entered Heilongjiang calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; Be Ready entered calligraphy and Painting Exhibition in celebration of the 55th anniversary of foundation of Air Force; Waterfall View won silver prize in Oriental calligraphy and Painting Artists Exhibition.
