Shankai(Zhigang Zhao),a Chinese new modern capable painter, was born in Guilin, Guangxi Province in 1965, where the landscape is fabulous as in painting. He loves fine art and works hard on it since he was very young. He graduated from fine art specialty of Guangdong Normal College, and he’s now a fine art teacher. His basic skill in fine art are very steady and he digs into many kinds of painting, spending a long time in creation of traditional Chinese painting. He is good at Chinese landscape and flower-birds painting, and major in landscape. After many years of consistent exploration, he translates his painting concept into ink palate of traditional Chinese painting and is pursuing art effect with both shape and spirit, basing on his steady basic skill of knowing rules and techniques in colors, construction and creation. He is free in painting and his works are rich in content, which together formed a personal style-vivid, fresh, and both refined and popular. He often goes out for sketch creation and his landscape works are mostly focusing on great hills, residents and trees, of which the picture is vivid and natural. Ink applying is thick and in levels in his works. His works participated in exhibitions, competitions and won awards many times. On December 11th, 2006, his landscape work Fishing in Autumn was collected by Business Apartment of PRC and Early Autumn won an honour of silver prize in Calyx Canthus Scent--National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. Bridge River House was selected into 100-metre-long Painting and Calligraphy Volume Exhibition in celebration for 105th birth anniversary of Chen Yi and 122nd birth anniversary of Xie Wuliang, and was collected into Chen Yi Museum in Lezhi Town, Sichuang Province as well. In July 2007, his works were collected and compiled into Harmony ofProsperous Times, a large scale referrence literature edited by Chinese Culture Information Associate. In November the same year, he was invited and six of his works were compiled into Century Retrospect and Prospect--Art Ceremony, a large scale literature special volume edited by Chinese Culture Information Associate.
